On the 14th October, Harris Creative had the pleasure of joining some of our clients at Education Estates, the UK’s leading event dedicated to the development and management of educational infrastructure. Our joint MD Kirsty Scott and project coordinator Elle Money both attended the event and here’s their review of the day.
Held annually at Manchester Central, Education Estates brings together professionals involved in the funding, design, construction, maintenance, and management of school, college, and university buildings. It’s a unique opportunity for education leaders and construction sector businesses to connect, showcase innovations, and explore the future of learning environments.
The event featured an exhibitor marketplace, alongside a diverse programme of interesting talks. Key stakeholders, including representatives from the Department for Education, local authorities and major architectural firms and developers, shared insights on a range of topics including designing for SEND schools, Net Zero operations and sustainable solutions.

One highlight for us was visiting the stand of VisionBuilt, who we’ve recently collaborated with on a PR project to promote their rebrand which was actually launched at the show. Their stand was very impressive, attracting the attention of many delegates with their engaging new branding (and free coffee – with almost 200 made on the first day). There was a definite buzz on the stand, and at around 1pm Director of Sales and Marketing, Wayne Yeomans, and Head of Design, Kevin Dolan, delivered a talk on “Industrialised Construction for SEND School Delivery” which sparked interesting conversations.

We also enjoyed catching up with other clients past and present, exploring the exhibitor marketplace, and of course meeting the Dulux dog. The energy across the venue and amongst delegates was very positive, and according to one client, foot traffic exceeded expectations by 20per cent, which added to the lively atmosphere.
After catching up with our clients and meeting other delegates and exhibitors, the day concluded with a relaxed drinks reception at Forty Seven, hosted by our client Novus Property Solutions. It was the perfect way to close off a very active day and it was lovely to catch up with colleagues from Novus and some of their customers after an inspiring day of education-focused conversation.
Education Estates proved why it’s the must-attend event for anyone shaping the future of educational spaces, we’re looking forward to seeing how the discussions highlighted will impact this dynamic sector over the next twelve months.
