As a female majority marketing agency working solely within the construction sector, Women in Construction Week is very close to our hearts. This year we’re challenging out-dated perceptions to encourage women and girls to rule in a career in construction, rather than ruling it out.
Every day during Women in Construction Week we’ll be exploring why more women should consider a career in construction. We’ll be addressing transferrable skills they may already have, showcasing jobs they might never have considered, and busting the myths that contribute to more women ruling out construction as a career option. We’ll also be sharing success stories from our own clients who cover all aspects of the construction sector from product manufacturers and distributors to demolition, groundworks and final fit out.
Spearheaded by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), Women in Construction Week is a global event which is gaining more traction with every passing year and here at Harris, we’re proud to get involved. Over the last few years, together with our clients, we’ve celebrated the fantastic work women in the construction sector are doing day in day out, called out things that we think still need to change, and shared our collective hopes for the future.
The 2025 theme of Women in Construction Week is ‘Together We Rise’ which embodies the collaborative spirit driving positive change in the construction industry. Challenging perceptions and encouraging women to rule construction in as a career option is just one way we can play our part to drive positive change in the sector.
Make sure you’re following us on LinkedIn and Instagram to join us as we celebrate Women in Construction Week all this week.
