Abodo is an innovative and sustainability-conscious business, offering thermally-modified timber that stands the test of time without compromising on beauty and safety. Based in New Zealand but operating globally, Abodo asked us to capture video and stills across a series of its projects in the UK for use across its website and social media channels.
Our first project was to create a video in collaboration with Abodo’s customer, Catton Windows. The brief was a high-end video that illustrated the quality of the timber and the benefits of working with Adobo, as well as showcasing Catton Windows’ skill and craftsmanship.
Our team planned and scripted the video to ensure the audio was both engaging and informative, covering all key messages, before capturing the footage across two consecutive days. Once we’d recorded the footage, we edited two versions – a minute-long video for the website, and a shorter version suitable for use on social media – as well as high resolution still images.
The next project Abodo asked us to complete was for still imagery of the first event of its Future of Wood stadium tour. Taking place throughout April and May 2024, the tour saw a series of exciting presentations from Abodo’s New Zealand team being held at venues across the UK.
We attended the first event in Newcastle for a single-day photography shoot to showcase the excitement of the day for use across the website and social media to encourage guests at future events. Our single day shoot ensured we captured a series of must-have images such as Abodo branding and marketing materials, Abodo timber, the engaged audience, and key team members.
Our third project for Abodo took place in Manchester just three days after the Future of Wood stadium tour event in Newcastle. This time, we were asked to capture stills for a student event for future joiners at Tameside College Manchester, where Abodo’s experts shared their knowledge to educate and support the next generation. Throughout the day, our team photographed a variety of high quality images that captured the essence of the day, including student engagement, Abodo’s logo and marketing materials, and the gift of Abodo timber given to each student.
“Harris Creative’s understanding of our business and the construction sector as a whole made for a very smooth process. The photography and video Harris undertook hit all our objectives, capturing the events perfectly and providing us with useful assets for the future.” – Jade Harris, Abodo.
Our team collaborated with Abodo throughout each project, successfully navigating the challenges of liaising with a client based in New Zealand, ensuring the right end result every time. The client was very happy with the imagery we captured, with the video and stills currently in use across Abodo’s website and social media channels.
