Helping Hookstone Group cast the net wider

In 2022, Hookstone Group, a Leeds-based demolition company, tasked Harris Creative with building a web presence that would ‘change the face of demolition’ and represent Hookstone as a highly-professional, people-led organisation with a proactive and dedicated team.

Like many construction websites, Hookstone’s existing site was in need of an update: the site was unresponsive and lacking in high-quality content, but more crucially it did not tell the story of what Hookstone is all about as a business, meaning that it was not delivering the connections to potential customers who were searching for a demolition solution.

We identified that the website needed to engage with visitors quickly and leave them with a positive impression of Hookstone, and encourage enquiries from Hookstone’s key target customers: tier two contractors, new construction clients, existing clients, and those seeking a one-off demolition project.

Communicating the brand

Our developers, Richard and Caroline, liaised closely with the client to determine the key deliverables for the project, including creating a bespoke WordPress website that would work seamlessly on all devices, and that offered a scalable solution that would grow with the business. The website required clear business and service information, calls to action and ways to get in touch, and had to be visually engaging, with stills and video incorporated into the design. The site was SEO-optimised for ongoing performance, and had Google Analytics implementation.

It was also important to inform visitors why they should want to do business with Hookstone. So we undertook a simple brand development exercise too, creating a strapline and a ‘quality guaranteed’ roundel that appears throughout the site, and can be used on other branded material in the future.

As with all Harris Creative’s websites, the appearance of the site was crucial, and our broader capabilities as a full-service marketing agency meant we could help with new images and video. Our visual production manager, Mike, shot new stills and editing videos to further elevate the visuals of the new site. And Richard’s careful stewardship of the project, and frequent communication with the client, meant that he spotted any potential pitfalls well in advance and easily overcame them.

Giving the client what they wanted – and more

The new Hookstone site showcases what the company is all about, and helps the business to stand apart from its competitors. All of Hookstone’s services – including additional extras, like BROKK hire – are easily accessible and the site flows seamlessly, giving a high-level user experience that makes it easy for browsers to become buyers.

Harris’ team dedicated plenty of time to adapting to shifts within the brief – and it was all time well spent when we look at the finished result. The website is a modern, responsive, easily-navigable digital shop-window for the company: exactly what Hookstone wanted, and more.
