Our Women in Construction Week

The graphic celebrates Women in Construction Week and invites readers to join the conversation.

As a predominately female-based construction marketing agency, here at Harris Creative we are always keen to fly the flag for inclusivity within the industry. That’s why we created our own social media campaign in support of Women In Construction Week so we could share our views, our experiences and above all, our love of construction!

Founded by the National Association of Women in Construction back in 1998, Women In Construction Week is an annual event which aims to celebrate and promote the role of women in the construction industry. This year’s event, which ran from March 3rd to March 9th, was based around the theme of ‘Keys to the Future’ and members of our team were on hand to discuss their own career paths and views on how far the industry has come and more importantly, where it needs to go from here.

Our joint MD Kirsty, digital designer and developer Caz,  and designer Dani explored various topics, starting with what they love most about working within the construction industry and where they would like to see change. Throughout the week we went on to offer a few words of advice and encouragement to those who may be considering a career in construction (the overwhelming message here was to go for it!)

As part of our week-long activity, we also reached out to some of our clients to get their thoughts. Many thanks to Abigail Jefferey, delivery driver with interior building products distributor CCF; Lynn Duffy, director at manufacturing company Cre8 Joinery Solutions; Hayleigh Russell, transport administrator at waste management company Collard Group; and Claire Bailey-Jones, business development and marketing director at interiors and maintenance contractor Novus Property Solutions
