We’re proud to announce that we’re backing women’s sport in our home city by sponsoring Leeds Rhinos Women’s player Keara Bennett for the 2022 season, and will be extending our partnership with the club for next year as well.
With women’s sport enjoying the spotlight thanks to the success of the Lionesses, and with several Leeds Rhinos players – including Keara – gearing up for this year’s Rugby League World Cup, there has never been a better time to be backing the team. We’re proud to be supporting women and girls here in our home city.
As a lifelong Leeds Rhinos fan, it’s a big moment for our joint MD Kirsty Scott, who said: “The Leeds Rhinos Women have gone from strength to strength, and I’m very proud to be able to back a young up-and-coming player like Keara, and can’t wait to see her contending for more trophies and playing for England this autumn too.
“As a majority female team in the male dominated construction sector, we feel we have plenty in common with Keara and her teammates and we’re looking forward to supporting them as they continue to break down barriers and build a sporting community for women and girls in Leeds.”
Commenting on the sponsorship, Lois Forsell, Leeds Rhinos Women’s head coach and women & girls development officer for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation, said: “The women’s game is growing all the time and investment and support from sponsors like Harris Creative are vital to the success of the Leeds team. I’m delighted that Harris Creative has decided to back Keara and the club and look forward to seeing the Harris team in the stands at Headingley for our play-off matches!”
The Leeds Rhinos Women’s team has one more home game this season, and then will be starting their bid for the Women’s Super League Trophy – with Keara and her teammates all bidding for a place in the England starting line-up at the Rugby League World Cup.
